Cheongchosu Mulhoe is Korea's first restaurant dedicated to mulhoe that draws over a million visitors a year. The building is roomy — first floor table seating, second and third floors traditional ondol (floor) seating, and a café on the fourth floor. Their signature Haejeon Mulhoe arrives as an orange-tinged ice broth piled high with abalone, sea cucumber, sea squirt and squid; the broth is made from aged beef bone stock and traditional jang to tame any fishiness and boost umami. The bright, tangy dressing and the chewy, crunchy textures of fresh seafood are the main appeal. The Seongge-al Bibimbap (rice mixed with generous sea urchin roe, flying fish roe, and gim flakes) is another favorite. On-site parking makes it convenient if you visit by car.

Local Tips

  • Signature Haejeon Mulhoe: chilled, tangy orange broth topped with abundant fresh seafood for contrasting textures and bright flavor
  • Large multi-floor layout (tables, ondol seating, 4th-floor café) — comfortable for groups and families
  • Drive if you can (on-site parking); try the Seongge-al Bibimbap, and arrive early for the limited squid mulhoe
