A quietly charming, couple-run spot that started as the wife's small project and kept its original 'bunsik' name out of habit and nostalgia. Today they focus mainly on a thick, homey kimchi stew and kongnamul-bap (bean-sprout rice); their kimchi comes from cabbage grown in the clean fields of Haenam, and the white rice is cooked to order in some 40+ individual pots. Note: kongnamul-bap is only served for parties of two or more and must be ordered when you make a reservation because the rice is cooked fresh.

Local Tips

  • Thick, simmered 'jjageuli' kimchi-jjigae made with locally sourced Haenam cabbage and freshly cooked white rice
  • Small, family-run atmosphere that kept its original 'bunsik' name—simple, honest home cooking
  • Kongnamul-bap requires 2+ people and must be ordered when you reserve because the rice is cooked fresh
