The original Sariwon — a specialist run by the same family for over 60 years across four generations. The Daejeon main branch serves Pyongyang-style cold noodles: chilled buckwheat noodles in an icy sagol (beef-bone) broth, topped with vegetables, pyeonyuk (sliced boiled meat) and a boiled egg. Also on offer are spicy-sweet bibim- and house-made wangson mandu (large handmade dumplings), plus a range of grilled meat and set menus.

Local Tips

  • Signature Pyongyang-style mul-naengmyeon served with chilled sagol (beef-bone) broth and pyeonyuk
  • Family-run for over 60 years with branches in Daejeon, Seoul and Sejong — classic, no-frills dining
  • Busy at lunch; pair your naengmyeon with house-made wangson mandu or a grilled meat set
